BBC news presenter Tom Donkin goes AWOL during broadcast: Video

WE’VE all seen newsreaders mixing up which camera they’re supposed to be talking into.

But a BBC presenter took things to another level during a 2am segment on BBC World News about Hurricane Irma.

Tom Donkin began the segment by standing in the shadows while clutching a handful of paper, before quickly sprinting across the set in a fluster.

Then, he calmly walks back into position, close to where he started, and begins the segment.

Only there’s one problem: he’s facing the wrong way.

Finally, he turns, looks into the right camera, and begins the segment.

Viewers found it hilarious.

Donkin himself has made light of the situation, responding to questions on Twitter by explaining the mistake was caused by a “camera fail”.

He also said: “Live TV mate, anything can happen”.
