Blimpie in DeKalb County fails health inspection

by: Carol Sbarge

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – A chain restaurant in DeKalb County failed a health inspection in part because of no hot water in the bathroom.

The Blimpie on Bouldercrest Road got a score of 66 on Tuesday.

Violations included no hot water or soap in the restroom, food contact surfaces not cleaned and sanitized and food not held cold enough.

Manager Alia Wilson told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge they have fixed the violations and now have working hot water in the restroom.

Wilson said she and her staff have wiped down and sanitized everything in the restaurant.

Customer Veronica Bean told Sbarge she’s always enjoyed the food at that Blimpie, but says they need to get their score back up.

The inspector gave the Blimpie a score of 85 after a March inspection. The fast food restaurant will be re-inspected next month. We’ll let you know how they do.
