Balyasny Asset Management has hired Mike DiSpirito as an equity trader, based in New York, according to LinkedIn. The firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

DiSpirito has more than 15 years of experience across asset management and global markets roles.
He joins after over 11 years at BlackRock, where he most recently served as Director of Equity & Derivatives Trading, where he led a European trading pod covering index, systematic and quantitative strategies, risk arbitrage, ETFs, equity derivatives and portfolio transitions. In that role, he coordinated execution across multiple trading styles and asset classes, managing complex multi-asset equity flows across regions.
Prior to that, he spent more than six years as Vice President in equity and derivatives trading in London, focused on European execution and derivatives markets. He also previously worked in portfolio finance, supporting financing and balance sheet-related trading activities within BlackRock’s broader markets platform.
Before joining BlackRock, DiSpirito worked at Citigroup in Markets Treasury and began his career at PwC in asset management advisory roles.
Balyasny Asset Management is a multi-strategy investment firm with global equities, macro, credit and quantitative trading platforms, and has continued expanding its trading and investment teams in recent months amid broader competition for talent across hedge funds and systematic investing.
