This newspaper continues to partner with the Irchester-based Animals in Need charity to help find their rescue dogs loving homes.
The charity’s boss Annie Marriott said: “When people adopt a rescue, they save two animals: the one they bring home and the one that gets the empty kennel. Their lives often depend on it. All our dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, parasite-treated, and come with four weeks of free insurance, a session with dog behaviourist Nathan Watson, and rescue support for their entire lives.
“If you’re interested in welcoming one into your home, please email [email protected]. Home checks are carried out, and a donation is required.”
Annie added: “98 percent of our dogs come from council pounds and have literally been abandoned on the streets. But yes we do feel for the families who love the dogs and have no option but to ask us to find new homes for them.”
Animals in Need recently said on its Facebook page: “Dog rehoming has been super busy, but as fast as we rehome dogs, new ones arrive. Our kennels are full of beautiful dogs, and every day we get multiple calls asking for help.
“Home visits will be carried out, and an adoption fee is required. We cannot rehome to families with children under five years.”

Roxy cannot live with other animals, so she is looking for a home where she can be the only pet. Onyx is a handsome 7-year-old retired Greyhound who is ready to leave kennel life behind and find his very own forever sofa! Onyx is an absolute sweetheart who walks beautifully alongside his Greyhound friends and loves a good stroll. 4. Jamie
Jamie is a lovely 8-year-old Norfolk Terrier with a happy, affectionate nature. He does have some skin issues, which are believed to be food allergy related, but that doesn’t stop him enjoying life. He loves nothing more than sitting on your lap for a cuddle, but he’s equally happy playing fetch with his favourite ball. Jamie can grumble at other dogs, so a pet-free home would be best for him. He’s a sweet boy who would love a home where he can enjoy plenty of cuddles, playtime and companionship. Photo: AIN
