In his latest market analysis, Aaron Dishner, co-founder and lead instructor at The Better Traders, Inc., outlines a nuanced outlook for cryptocurrencies as of August 26, 2026. He notes that Bitcoin exhibits bearish divergence signals but lacks a confirmed reversal, while Ethereum remains structurally strong. Dishner also highlights mixed signals across stablecoin dominance, lower-cap rotation, and traditional finance markets.

Bitcoin: Bearish Signs but No Confirmed Reversal

Dishner observes that Bitcoin is approaching the $81,788 TBO Resistance level, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) making lower highs and trading volume declining. These are classic bearish-reversal indicators, but he cautions that a single 4-hour TBT Bearish Divergence is insufficient to establish a solid reversal case. He does not anticipate an immediate sharp decline, though a short-term pullback near historical resistance is plausible. Dishner believes the bottom is likely already in, but a decisive break above resistance would challenge his bearish bias.

Ethereum: Strong Weekly Structure, Potential Pullback

Ethereum has already surpassed its 2025-2026 resistance cluster, although the 2022 0.618 retracement level remains a hurdle. A 4-hour TBT Bearish Divergence has appeared, but the weekly chart is described as extremely bullish. Dishner notes that last week’s weekly TBO Close Short suggests a pullback to the Fast line is due, but an immediate move this week would be unusual. He preserves this tension rather than treating the divergence as a confirmed reversal.

Market Breadth and Rotation

Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) is rising significantly, while Ethereum dominance (ETH.D) shows a TBT Bearish Divergence, indicating stronger capital flows into Bitcoin. However, ETH.D remains bullish overall. OTHERS.D suggests that lower-cap rotation is beginning but is still in its early stages. The total cryptocurrency market cap (TOTALE) is struggling at the $2.4T TBO Resistance and the 0.382 Fibonacci level, with price and RSI diverging. TOTALE50 shows similar patterns, and TOTALE100 has not yet broken above the daily Cloud. Dishner remains optimistic despite potential Bitcoin pullbacks.

OTHERS has confirmed a weekly TBO Close Short, the first since April 2020. TOTAL3ESBTC is also in early stages, with its TBO Close Short closing on Tuesday’s pullback, and continuation is expected. These market-cap and ratio charts provide insights into breadth and relative strength rather than direct price targets.

Traditional Markets and Other Assets

The U.S. dollar index (DXY) is strongly bearish below the Cloud, but a deeper close below the Cloud is unconfirmed. S&P futures and major indices are described as boring. The Nikkei remains in bearish consolidation, while KOSPI has returned to bullish consolidation. Gold has been rejected at the 0.5 Fibonacci level while overextended and overbought. Silver may pull back, Copper is pumping, and Uranium has closed above the Cloud. Among altcoins, UNI‘s 4h TBT Bearish Divergence Cluster is a serious warning, while WLD and KAS show bullish confirmation signals.

Dishner emphasizes that these asset states are kept separate, reflecting a mixed but carefully analyzed market environment.
