Schneider Electric expands AI-ready infrastructure portfolio with next-generation prefabricated power modules

Global energy technology leader Schneider Electric has announced a new range of standardized Prefabricated Power Modules and Power Skids, expanding its AI-ready infrastructure portfolio with scalable, high-density power solutions designed for hyperscale, neocloud and colocation data center environments.

Powered by Schneider Electric’s latest Galaxy VXL (GVXL) UPS technology, the new solutions provide up to 2.5 megawatts (MW) of power capacity per module, creating the largest, single-container prefabricated power solution Schneider Electric has brought to market.

Designed as scalable “power blocks” based on Schneider Electric’s latest reference designs with NVIDIA, which include integrated power management and liquid cooling controls for its GB300 NVL72 platform, the solutions enable customers to rapidly deploy AI-ready power infrastructure to support high-performance computing (HPC), AI training clusters and GPU-intensive workloads.

Available in standardized reference designs, which include dedicated power modules and power skids spanning 2MW, 2.25MW and 2.5MW configurations, the new portfolio delivers enhanced speed, predictability and scalability for AI-ready data center deployments.

Accelerating AI infrastructure deployment

As AI workloads continue to accelerate, data center operators are under increasing pressure to deploy high-density infrastructure faster and at greater scale. Traditional, customized prefabricated power solutions can often require lead times of 12–14 months, creating challenges for hyperscale, AI and cloud providers looking to rapidly expand capacity.

Schneider Electric’s new standardized approach to prefabricated power infrastructure addresses this challenge by simplifying the specification, design, and quoting processes, enabling manufacturing of prefabricated power infrastructure in as little as six months.

By leveraging pre-engineered and standard SKUs alongside optimized manufacturing and supply chain processes, the solutions provide faster time-to-market, improved predictability and reduced deployment complexity for cloud and AI infrastructure projects.

“Today’s data center operators are under immense pressure to deploy AI-ready infrastructure faster, more efficiently and at greater scale,” said Tarunjeet Sarao, SVP Data Center Systems, Schneider Electric. “By standardizing our prefabricated power systems, and incorporating our leading Galaxy VXL UPS technology, we are enabling hyperscale, neocloud and colocation providers to deploy scalable, high-density power infrastructure in months rather than years. This represents a major step forward in helping customers build the next generation of AI factories, AI hubs and large-scale digital infrastructure.”

High-density power infrastructure for AI-ready data centers

Purpose-built for AI and next-generation data centers, the new prefabricated power modules and power skids are engineered to support the increasing power density requirements associated with accelerated computing and large-scale AI deployments.

The prefabricated power modules integrate Schneider Electric technologies including Galaxy VXL UPS, switchgear, cooling systems, lithium-ion battery technology, busway and power distribution systems within a factory-tested enclosure. Power skids provide the same core electrical infrastructure in an open skid-based format designed for indoor deployment within grey space environments.

The solutions can also be combined with modular IT pods to deliver complete AI-ready infrastructure platforms aligned with Schneider Electric’s AI reference designs and NVIDIA-based reference architectures.

Designed for scalable deployment, multiple modules can be deployed as repeatable “power blocks,” enabling customers to scale infrastructure capacity to tens of megawatts across AI campuses and hyperscale environments.

Manufactured and tested in Barcelona

The new range of Prefabricated Power Modules and Power Skids are engineered, manufactured and tested at Schneider Electric’s Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, which was recently expanded to support growing global demand for modular data center infrastructure.

The factory and large-scale logistics center, which is one of the primary European locations for the design, production, and integration of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Modular Data Center portfolio, provides 5000m2 of dedicated, production space – meeting accelerated customer requirements for speed to market, predictability, and resilient data center solutions for the AI era.

With more than 15 years of expertise in modular data center and prefabricated power infrastructure, Schneider Electric continues to expand its end-to-end AI-ready data center portfolio spanning power, cooling, racks, software, modular infrastructure and integrated AI reference architectures.

Available immediately in Europe, the new power solutions will become available in North America later this year, followed by additional international markets and APAC.
