Ve-Golokuati (V/R), Sept. 19, GNA – Mr Manfred Tawiah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadzato South, has led a team from the Assembly to inspect progress of work on the 24-Hour Economy Market Project at Ve-Golokuati.
The inspection formed part of the second site meeting organised by the project consultant, PPMG, to assess the pace and quality of work and discuss measures for successful implementation.
The 24-Hour Economy Market Project is a flagship government initiative aimed at boosting local economic activities by providing a modern and conducive trading environment that operates beyond conventional market hours.
Mr Tawiah was accompanied by the District Works Engineer, District Planning Officer and other key Assembly staff.
The team interacted with the consultant and contractor to review construction progress, identify challenges and assess compliance with approved specifications and drawings.
The project is currently at the foundation level, with significant work completed on ground preparation and substructure works.
The inspection showed that the contractor was delivering quality work and adhering to approved specifications, which the Assembly described as encouraging.
The consultant, PPMG, led by Mr Mamtaz Quaye, briefed the team on the work schedule and assured that all technical requirements were being followed to ensure structural integrity and durability.
Mr Tawiah expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work and commended the contractor for the professionalism exhibited on site.


He encouraged the consultant and contractor to maintain the momentum and adhere to timelines to facilitate early completion.
He said the completed market would create jobs, enhance trading activities and significantly improve the local economy of Ve-Golokuati and the district.
Mr. Tawiah reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to providing the necessary support and supervision to ensure the project was completed on schedule and to the required standards.
The site meeting forms part of efforts by the Assembly and project stakeholders to closely monitor the project, address challenges promptly and ensure the facility becomes a model 24-hour economy market in the Volta Region.
