A further analysis of this data showed that out of these 19 funds, nine funds were mid caps, seven were small caps, two large & mid caps and one ELSS fund.
Bandhan Large & Mid Cap Fund, a large & midcap fund, offered over 15% CAGR in the last three, five and seven years. In the last three years, the fund posted a gain of 16.38%, 15.04% in the last five years and 17.74% in the last seven years.

The next two funds were smallcap funds. Bank of India Small Cap Fund and DSP Small Cap Fund delivered over 15% CAGR in all the three horizons. The other four funds were midcaps. Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund delivered a CAGR of 18.99% in the last three years, 16.55% in the last five years and 22.13% in the last seven years.
HDFC Mid Cap Fund, the largest midcap fund based on the assets managed, delivered 16.02% in the last three years, 17.54% in the last five years and 21.53% in the last seven years. HSBC Midcap Fund offered a return of 22.08% in the last three years, 16.76% in the last five years and 20.04% in the last seven years.
ICICI Pru Mid Cap Fund delivered a CAGR of over 15% in all the three horizons. In the last three years, the fund delivered a CAGR of 20.36%, 15.74% in the last five years and 20.22% in the last seven years.The next three funds were from Invesco India Mutual Fund. The three funds were – Invesco India Large & Mid Cap Fund, Invesco India Midcap Fund, and Invesco India Smallcap Fund.
LIC MF Small Cap Fund offered over 15% CAGR in all the three horizons. The fund posted a gain of 17.81% in the last three years, 16.36% in the last five years and 21.47% in the last seven years.
Mahindra Manulife Mid Cap Fund, a mid cap fund, also featured in the list and delivered over 15% CAGR in all three horizons. The next two funds were from Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund.
Motilal Oswal ELSS Tax Saver Fund and Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund delivered over 15% CAGR in all three horizons. This was followed by Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund, the fund with the highest NAV.
Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund gave 17.05% in the last three years, 16.57% in the last five years and 22.09% in the last seven years.
Quant Small Cap Fund gained 16.98% in the last three years, 17.89% in the last five years and 32.69% in the last seven years. This was followed by the mid cap and small cap fund of Sundaram Mutual Fund.
Sundaram Mid Cap Fund posted a gain of 16.71% in the last three years, 15.39% in the last five years and 18.36% in the last seven years. Sundaram Small Cap Fund gained 15.90% in the last three years, 15.05% in the last five years and 21.71% in the last seven years.
Union Small Cap Fund gave 16.54% in the last three years, 16.06% in the last five years and 23.85% in the last seven years.

Among these 19 funds, HSBC Midcap Fund gave the highest return of 22.08% in the last three years. In the last five years, Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund gave the highest return of 19.18% and in the last seven years, Quant Small Cap Fund gave the highest CAGR among these 19 funds.
There were several funds that delivered over 15% CAGR in any one or two horizons, but we considered the funds that delivered over 15% CAGR in all three horizons.
We considered all equity funds excluding sectoral and thematic funds. We considered regular and growth options. We calculated the trailing returns of these funds in the last three years, five years and seven years.
