NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Men’s Tennis concluded the final day of competition at the Black and Gold Invitational on Sunday against Vanderbilt.
Houston Jacques picked up two wins to end the weekend, once in doubles with partner Antoine Mayoral and once in singles by his lonesome.
Asier Ayllon Prado rebounded in his singles matchup to go two for three in the tournament.
The victorious Blue and White duo defeated Vanderbilt’s Roshan Santhosh and North Alabama’s Whitman Davis with a perfect sweep, 6-0.
The Vanderbilt duo of Donghyun Hwang and Leonardo Ljubicic, however, defeated Ayllon Prado and Birtan Duran, 6-3.
In singles play, the Blue Raiders’ Spaniard got his revenge on Ljubicic, winning straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.
Jacques picked up his first singles win of the season at the hands of Davis, 6-1, 6-2.
Hwang got the better of Duran in singles, winning 6-4, 6-4, while Santhosh responded to his earlier doubles sweep by earning a victory over Mayoral, 7-5, 6-2.
