Trina Henry’s Business Growth & Legacy

From managing cosmetic counters at Pacific Fair to becoming one of Queensland’s top 150 agents, Trina Henry has built a successful real estate career on the Gold Coast spanning 25 years.

Trina Henry’s journey into real estate began when she was looking for a career that would allow her to balance work with raising her children.

“I’m a cosmetician by trade and I worked at Pacific Fair, managed those cosmetic counters for many years and then I wanted to have children,” Trina said.

“I got into real estate because it gave me flexibility to look after my children while still working in the industry and maintaining that connection.”

A people person at heart

Trina said her background in sales and her natural affinity for connecting with people made real estate a natural fit.

“I’ve always been a people person, so I love connecting,” she said.

“That really resonated with me, and the combination felt like a natural step.”

She found that starting in real estate with a young baby actually gave her a unique advantage.

“I could take my baby. I actually found it refreshing because people saw me as a human being, not just a real estate agent, and it gave me a different edge.”

Building expertise across the board

Over her 25-year career, Trina has developed expertise across residential, commercial and industrial real estate.

She worked for Lucy Cole for 12 years, which she credits with helping her gain experience in the prestige real estate market, and also spent time working in commercial real estate.

“I am an agent who works across residential, commercial and industrial,” Trina said.

“I find challenges rewarding.”

Trina has also been working on a major land subdivision in Jacobs Well with the state government.

“I’ve progressed that to a stage where it looks likely to move to the PDA and become a successful development,” she said.

That work has led to further opportunities, with the state government engaging her on other rezoning projects.

Opening Premier Estate Agents GC

About 12 months ago, Trina took the leap and opened her own agency, Premier Estate Agents GC.

“I’m Greek. I have a very strong foundation with family, and I wanted to build something lasting for my family while continuing to grow my own career,” she said.

Trina said working for other agencies had previously left her feeling constrained.

“I often felt limited in being able to achieve both what I wanted and what I needed,” she said.

“That ultimately led me to open my own agency so I could deliver the level of service I felt was sometimes missing elsewhere.”

A focus on customer service

Trina believes strong customer service is central to long-term success in real estate.

“One of the biggest things in real estate is customer service, and not all agents deliver it consistently,” she said.

“They’ll sell you something, you never hear from them again. They disappear.

“The biggest thing about real estate to me is building relationships, maintaining them, and nurturing them so that when people are ready to move, sell, or help their children into the market, they think of you.”

Trina specialises in luxury real estate and places a strong emphasis on presentation to achieve optimal results for her clients.

“I focus on helping prepare and style properties so they can achieve the best possible outcome,” she said.

Her straightforward approach and negotiation skills have also contributed to her results.

“I’m a very straightforward person,” Trina said.

“People value that transparency. I have strong negotiation skills and I focus on closing outcomes that work for my clients.”

Strong start for new business

The new business is already showing early momentum, with Trina reporting four new listings and two new rentals in a single week recently.

“I’m finding it’s going extremely well. I’m starting to get strong traction and awareness of my brand,” she said.

Trina operates using the OASIS model with @realty, which provides back-end support while allowing her to maintain her own branding.

“I have my own logo, I have my own branding, and I value that because it provides a strong platform to focus on the luxury segment of the market,” she said.

“It’s very important to me to have a reliable support team behind me to enable me to do my job properly.”

Award-winning track record

Trina’s work in the industry has been recognised with multiple awards over the years.

She has previously been named among the top 150 agents in Queensland and has received recognition including top listing agent, top selling agent and number one sales agent.

Community involvement

Beyond real estate, Trina is actively involved in the Gold Coast community.

She has recently organised a fundraising page for the Gold Coast Hospital to support cancer and donor patients, which is featured on her Facebook page and website.

Last year, she organised a pooch competition in Paradise Point, partnering with local businesses to drive community engagement.

“I love doing things like that involving the local community and local businesses, all getting behind each other to help each other succeed,” she said.

Looking to the future

Trina has ambitious plans for Premier Estate Agents GC over the next five years.

“I would like to expand my business and have other agents working for me,” she said.

She has already brought on a personal assistant, and her son is working with her part-time in property management.

“Obviously, I’d like to grow both of those areas and build a brand that stands strong with people who value the way I work,” she said.
