Much to the delight of sweet-toothed Aussies, Lindt has announced a new flavour of its iconic gold bunny ahead of Easter – and it’s the first time in a decade.

The new $10 salted caramel bunny blends Lindt’s signature milk chocolate with rich, buttery caramel pieces and a delicate touch of sea salt.

It’s the only new flavour launched since 2015 and joins hazelnut, white chocolate and dark chocolate. 

The Lindt milk chocolate base delivers a wonderfully creamy and velvety texture, while the caramel pieces add a richness, complexity and delightful crunch. 

The touch of fine sea salt then balances and enhances the caramel’s sweetness, creating a perfectly balanced taste sensation.

‘Salted caramel is one of the most loved flavour combinations, and we’re thrilled to introduce it to our Gold Bunny range,’ Lindt Master Chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler said.

‘We’ve carefully crafted this new flavour to celebrate the combination of the luxurious richness of our milk chocolate, the deep complexity of caramel, enhanced by the touch of sea salt.

The popularity of salted caramel has soared globally in recent years, and Australians have embraced it as a go-to flavour across desserts, ice creams, and confectionery. 

While this is the first new flavour for the region in a decade, the bunny portfolio has evolved over the years with different sizes, limited edition foils, and the block in 2024, keeping Easter traditions fresh and exciting.

While the new bunny also has its signature gold foil, it boasts an elegant blue ribbon and bell instead of the classic red.

For over 70 years, Lindt’s gold bunny has been at the heart of Easter celebrations around the world. 

In Australia, it has become a beloved staple, from Easter egg hunts to joyful gifting, delighting chocolate lovers year after year.

Last Easter, Australians consumed approximately 5.1 kilograms of chocolate per person, reinforcing the strong demand for premium seasonal treats. 

Lindt is known for three iconic treats: smooth melting Lindor truffles, the iconic Lindt Gold Bunny and the rich Excellence blocks. 

With 179-year history behind them and rich Swiss heritage, Lindt now has more than 2,500 products in more than 120 countries worldwide.

The company has pioneered the premium chocolate market and mastered the art of gourmet chocolate making, embodying the passion of its Swiss Master Chocolatiers.

Lindt Master Chocolatier Thomas trained in Switzerland as a Pâtissier and Confiseur at the renowned Confiserie Reber in a town called Schaffhausen, approximately 50km north of Zürich. 

During his intense three-year training, Thomas learnt the craft of creating fine Pralinés and Truffles, chocolate specialities and chocolate pieces from Master Chocolatier Laurent Perriraz, under which he trained. 

Thomas joined Lindt & Sprüngli over two decades ago and as one of only 5 Lindt Master Chocolatiers in the world, Thomas is passionately involved in working on new Lindt products and is an integral part of spreading the Lindt message. 

His lifelong mission is exploring new heights of chocolate indulgence.
