HMcDonald’s Australia has announced the launch of an exciting new range of nostalgic collectables.

The fast food retailer is bringing back its collector’s edition drinking glasses, six in total, each reflecting a different era at McDonald’s.

These include Grimace, Coca-Cola and Shrek with Minions.

Each glass features two images on either side, with Grimace from 1976 coupled with Nao Blocks – Fry from 2015, the Ronald McDonald House 25 Years Coke delivery truck from 1999 and the Coco-Cola contour glass image from 2009 sharing a glass and Shrek from 2007 joining Minions from 2015.

Rounding out the range are Peanut and Hello Kitty, Barbie and Hot Wheels and Teenie Beanie Babies. (McDonald’s Australia)

Hello Kitty Crew Keychain from 2000 join Peanuts Park Ranger Snoopy from 2002, Hot Wheels from 1993 and Barbie from 1999 are on the same glass and TY Patti the Platypus from 1997 is coupled with Golden Arches Bear from 2004.

The glasses will be available from August 14 until September 3 or while stocks last, after 10.30am each day.

McDonald’s Australia Marketing Director Amanda Nakad says the range has been designed to “unlock some of our fans’ favourite McDonald’s memories.”

“The new collectable glasses commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing longtime fans to relive treasured moments while helping a new generation make their lasting memories,” she says.

“There’s an undeniable thrill when you snag that one elusive McDonald’s collectable or the final piece to complete your collection – head into your local Macca’s to grab your Collector’s Edition Glass, while they’re still available.”

McDonald’s opened its first store in Yagoona, Sydney, in 1971 before expanding across the country.

There are currently 1025 stores operating.

The Quarter Pounder is currently available in a range of variations including with bacon and crispy onions.

The cost of a large Quarter Pounder meal varies from store to store costing $13.10 to $13.90 on average.
