HaltonHillsToday, in partnership with the Upper Credit Humane Society (UCHS), highlights a special pet in need of adoption every week.
Silver and Sephora, two young tabby siblings born on August 20, 2025, are seeking a quiet household with patient owners who understand that building trust with a shelter animal takes time. Shelter staff describe both felines as gentle souls who simply need a calm environment to fully blossom.
Silver, a male tabby, is a tiny explorer who’s still learning that the world is a kind place.
According to animal care attendants, Silver finds comfort in quiet, small spaces and can sometimes startle at fast movements. However, he is making incredible strides daily. He is currently working on building his confidence and will now bravely take treats directly from a human hand. Shelter volunteers note that the reward of watching Silver finally feel safe enough to play and purr is truly magical.
Silver’s sister, Sephora, shares her brother’s timid but sweet disposition.
Staff affectionately refer to Sephora as a “wallflower.” While she spends most of her time hiding right now, she thrives when interacting with patient, calm handlers. She dislikes loud noises or sudden gestures, making her the perfect match for an adopter looking for a quiet best friend to gently coax out of her shell with treats and low-toned, soothing conversations.
Both tabbies possess a medium-to-high activity level once they feel secure. They could be a match with respectful, quiet children who understand boundaries. The tabbies are capable of getting along well with existing household felines following a slow, structured introduction. As for dogs, Staff feel there could be a potential compatibility with a very calm, respectful dog, provided the introduction process is gradual.
They are neutered/spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
