Well, it’s hardly a surprise, but Boy Swallows Universe has taken out the Best miniseries or telemovie, maintaining its near-perfect streak at this year’s Logies. A shame for those of us who loved Erotic Stories on SBS, but not everything can go to plan.

The Netflix series has had one of the all-time great Logies nights, taking home four trophies so far. The enormous global success of the miniseries for Netflix speaks volumes about audience habits, and will no doubt spark a larger conversation for the Logies moving forward.
Author of the book, Trent Dalton, used his speech to thank his hometown of Brisbane, the people behind the show, and his family. “You showed the world why I love my mum, why I miss my dad and why I worship my brothers. I want to shout out all the mums who are like Frankie Bell, they’re out in the suburbs tonight, they’re in the darkness and when you’re children look at you in the darkness, all they see is your light! Keep shining, we see you and we love you!”
