Sir Sam Neill has put an exclusive collection of Funko Pops autographed by some of Hollywood’s biggest names up for a charity auction.

The movie star will auction off his collection of Jurassic Park-related Funko Pop characters autographed by the actors who played them as part of a Save the Children New Zealand fundraiser.

Funko Pops are vinyl figures of characters from pop culture characterised by their immediately recognisable small bodies and big heads. They have become highly sought after collectors’ items around the world since their launch in 2010.

The lot includes Funko Pops of Dr Ellie Sattler, signed by Laura Dern, Dr Ian Malcolm, signed by Jeff Goldblum, Owen Grady, signed by Chris Pratt, Claire Dearing, signed by Bryce Dallas Howard, and Dr Alan Grant, signed by Neill himself.

“They’re all signed, they’re unopened, no one else has this set in the world,” Neill said in a video promoting the auction.

“They’re absolutely invaluable and you will want to go for the auction and get these.”

The auction through Propstore closes next Saturday. All proceeds will go to Save the Children New Zealand’s work to support children living in refugee camps.

Chief executive Heidi Coetzee said Neill’s donation would go towards helping nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees.

“At a time when half of the world’s refugees are children, Sir Sam’s generous contribution for child refugees is more important than ever.”
