Coleman says he and his team will look at what the fund’s investment allocation is supposed to be, what its investment objectives and risk management policies will be. He’ll be looking at fees, at underlying investments, and at the underlying natural liquidity as well as any policies around redemptions. He notes that many private equity and alternative investment products have also seen issues around redemptions and liquidity. A fund investing in assets as illiquid as infrastructure projects may see similar issues. While Coleman will take that systematic approach to assessing this retail fund, he also notes with some concern that…
Make CryptoSlate preferred on Cathie Wood built ARK Invest’s Bitcoin case on the idea that Bitcoin would become a global monetary layer that is programmable, borderless, resistant to inflation, and eventually dominant in payments. The latest version of that argument concedes that stablecoins got there first on the payments side.In a recent interview with The Rollup, the ARK CEO said stablecoins have taken over part of the role that ARK once expected Bitcoin to fill in emerging-market payments. At the same time, ETF-era institutions appear to be averaging down during drawdowns, softening the boom-bust severity that defined prior cycles. Related ReadingCathie…

The customary language of scale is frequently used to describe gambling mergers and acquisitions. The companies seek greater market share, broader geographic reach, superior technology, or greater bargaining power. The above factors do not justify why numerous deals in the gambling industry end up with a similar bottom line in retention. With acquisition costs still high, regulation continuing to tighten, and the amount of promotional money less justifiable, the true worth of an operator is increasingly based on its ability to retain players in the game over the long term. This is why casino crm conversations are now much closer to the…

Rhode Island’s economy delivered a mixed bag of results in the fourth quarter of 2025, with gains in employment and a declining unemployment rate offset by losses in in-state jobs and a dip in sales tax receipts, according to a report released Tuesday by Bryant University and the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council. The Rhode Island Key Performance Indicators Quarterly Briefing found that the number of employed Rhode Islanders rose for a second consecutive quarter, adding 3,800 jobs — a 0.7 percent increase — to reach 565,400 after four straight quarters of decline. Year over year, employment increased by 800…
Scarcity and high cost of land, a growing population, and rapid urbanisation mean that urban development authorities and estate developers have to rethink and reimagine their approach to housing for residential and commercial purposes. Over the last decade, a significant transformation in urban development has marked the era of high-rise buildings in Nigeria. Clearly, the country’s urban skylines are undergoing a dramatic change, with some of the towers rising 15, 20, 30 floors. Real estate developers are not only breaking ground for new developments but also pulling down old structures to make way for new, high-density housing. This shift is driven…

BP (BP.) has reported a first-quarter profit of $3.2bn (£2.4bn), well ahead of the $2.7bn consensus forecast and the previous year’s $1.4bn result. The gains came from the trading division, which had an “exceptional” performance, BP said, as global energy markets reacted to the US attack on Iran at the end of February. The profit measure was underlying replacement cost profit, BP’s preferred measure. Its pretax profit was $7.4bn, more than double the Q1 2025 figure. The average oil price realisation for the company was only up slightly in Q4, BP said, at $60 per barrel compared to $57. Brent…
