Others of this kind include the Stowe sale in 1848 and the sale of William Beckford’s collection from Fonthill Abbey in 1823. They are held in such high esteem because of the quality of the collections that were broken up during these auctions. Horace Walpole (1717–97) assembled a collection of over 4,000 items, including…

Toss in the recent federal government shutdown and delays lengthen. This month’s column summarizes many of the latest high level economic data releases, with the notion that they give a sense of where the economy of the greater Tri-Cities has been in 2025 and could help signal where it’s going. Some of the data is from 2024 and some is…

Over the past 30 years, Capital Fund Management (CFM) has scaled to over $15 billion in AUM by adopting a scientific, academic approach to investing. One of the central cogs in this quantitative machine has been Philip Seager, now head of Portfolio Management at CFM. Seager notes that the central pillar of CFM’s investment approach has been “identifying statistically significant effects.” One of CFM’s strategies for continuous scaling has been to combine multiple uncorrelated strategies to create an uncorrelated portfolio across equities, fixed income, and commodities. This can improve risk-adjusted returns, as low correlations are apparent across several asset classes.…

Over the past week, crypto’s heavyweights have been flat, with BTC up 1%, ETH down 1%, SOL down 2%, and etc. Sentiments have improved since a month ago, sure, but it’s anyone’s guess what happens next, and another downward break wouldn’t be surprising considering how 2026 has gone so far. What is surprising, though, is where we’re having outperformances right now, namely top Ethereum NFT projects. Surprising because the NFT bear market has been particularly brutal in recent months, and if the major coins are flat, you’d expect the same or worse for NFTs in this current environment. However, we’ve…
For decades, residential property has been the default real estate investment for individuals in India. It offered familiarity, emotional comfort, and the perception of long-term safety.
