Joyland, in Great Yarmouth, took to social media ahead of opening for the season to announce that it had increased the price of its tokens from £2 to £3.
In a statement on Facebook, its management said: “We have had to make the difficult decision to increase our token prices from £2 to £3 this season.

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly. Over the past year, our costs have risen significantly.
“From electricity, utilities, wages, and national insurance contributions to the rising costs of materials and the continuous work that goes into maintaining our rides.”

Tokens are used at the park to go on rides, with rides varying on the number of tokens required per person.
The maintenance of some of the park’s older rides has been a big factor behind the decision, with Joyland saying: “Joyland is home to some of the most unique and historic rides in the world.
“These rides, such as the Super Snails and the Tyrolean Tub Twist, are one-of-a-kind and incredibly costly to maintain.”
