CBSE Class 12 Economics Paper Analysis: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 Board Exam 2025 for Economics subject today. The exam was held from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM. The Class 12 Economics question paper has been regarded as easy to moderate, with a well-structured balance between simpler and more complex questions. All questions were strictly based on the prescribed syllabus, ensuring no out-of-syllabus content, which is a relief for students who had focused on their curriculum.
Kirti Khokher, PGT Economics, Global Indian International School, Noida said that the Macro Economics section was relatively easy, providing students with a chance to showcase their grasp of core concepts. On the other hand, the Indian Economic Development section was perceived as slightly more challenging, with some questions deemed tricky, requiring students to delve deeper into the subject matter.
“The paper featured a significant number of competency-based questions, emphasizing the practical application of theoretical concepts. Overall the paper maintains a balance between easy and complex questions. The well-structured mix required students to carefully read and analyze each question before answering, effectively assessing their conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills,” Khokher said.
Post-exam discussions indicated a positive response from students, with many expressing confidence in their performance. Rushil Mishra, a Class 12 student from Shiv Nadar School, Noida, shared his thoughts, saying, “I was happy with the paper. It was easier than expected, and I did not anticipate finishing so well in advance.”
“The Indian economy section was a bit lengthy but easy to attempt. All the MCQs were straightforward to solve,” said Ayatee Roy, a Class 12 student from Shiv Nadar School, Noida.
Jay Girotra, an educator at Shiv Nadar School, Noida, mentioned, “The Economics paper was well-balanced and of moderate difficulty, enabling students to apply both their conceptual understanding and analytical skills.” He noted that while some students found the case study question (Q34) in the Indian Economic Development section slightly challenging, the overall performance was strong, reflecting a solid understanding of the material.
