The collaboration was formalized last May 20, 2025 at the CEU Mendiola campus, Manila with a memorandum of understanding signed by CEU’s outgoing President Ma. Cristina Padolina and DOST Assistant Secretary for Technology Transfer, Communications, and Commercialization Napoleon Juanillo Jr.

Through the Science Journo Ako (SJA) advocacy program, this partnership will provide communication students with opportunities for training in multimedia production, learning sessions, expert engagements, resource sharing, and internships.

In 2020, during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the two institutions collaborated to co-produce “Centrong Agtek,” a flagship mini talk show broadcast on social media. This project helped students develop an appreciation for the field of science by learning from various experts and scientists featured in the show’s first run.

With renewed enthusiasm, DOST-STII and CEU plan to create more science-related content to encourage students to explore the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
