ISLANDERS and organisations are being invited to have their say on the future of wireless communication in Jersey as part of a consultation by the Island’s competition watchdog.
The consultation, launched by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority, aims to gather views on how to manage the Island’s wireless networks – such as mobile, Wi-Fi, and satellite services –so they can keep up with growing demand.
The authority is developing a long-term plan to ensure there is enough capacity for new technologies and future developments.
JCRA chief executive Tim Ringsdore said: “We want to hear from existing telecoms operators, potentially new wireless providers, organisations considering or developing new services, entrepreneurs, application developers or anyone wishing to trial new wireless services.”
Islanders can share their views in writing or verbally, with details on how to take part available at jcra.je.
The consultation runs until 30 May, after which the JCRA will publish a draft strategy.
