Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) called on regional communication and informatics offices to enhance their public communication skills to more effectively support and articulate government policies.

To support this effort, Komdigi Ministry’s Directorate General of Public Communication and Media organized a technical workshop for civil servants who serve as liaisons between local governments and their constituents.

According to a press release received in Jakarta on Friday, the workshop was held in Badung District, Bali Province, on Thursday (July 3).

Komdigi Ministry’s Acting Director of Public Communication, Marroli Jeni Indarto, stressed that public communication is essential for successful policy implementation.

“Communication is no longer trivial in bureaucracy. Civil servants tasked with communicating with the public are the architects of policy narratives,” he remarked.

Indarto explained that the role of such officials goes beyond delivering information — they also shape public perception, build trust, and create space for dialogue between the government and citizens.

He also highlighted that Ministerial Regulation No. 4 of 2024 requires regional communication and informatics offices to formulate public communication strategies.

He therefore underscored the need for sensitivity to issues, prudence in messaging, and awareness of social media developments.

He also referenced Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of Electronic System Implementation in Child Protection.

“This regulation reflects the state’s commitment to ensuring a safe digital space for Indonesian children,” he stated.

Indarto then encouraged public relations officials to promote this regulation by using empathetic and grounded narratives.

He expressed hope that the workshop would provide participants with knowledge of effective, adaptive, and collaborative approaches to digital public communication.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Communication and Informatics Office, I Gede Permana, noted that the workshop included a session simulating the formulation of social media analysis plans and data-based communication strategies.

He stated that this session aimed to strengthen participants’ ability to address public concerns arising on social media.
