On June 30, Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR), the treasury company of HYPE, was officially added to the Russell 3000 Index and the Russell 2000 Index. Earlier, PURR had already been included in the S&P Global BMI Index. Following the listing of HYPE-related ETFs, this milestone achievement is also seen as further proof that Wall Street investment institutions are positioning themselves in the HYPE token and the Hyperliquid ecosystem.

Recently, with the disclosure of the latest 13F filings, more news has emerged about investment institutions either buying PURR for the first time or increasing their holdings. Using this as a lead, Odaily Planet Daily explores the representative industry institutions that are indirectly increasing their HYPE exposure. (Note: The total value of stock holdings below is calculated based on the PURR stock price as of June 30.)

Wall Street Institutions and Family Offices Actively Buying: Druckenmiller Family Office and Renaissance Technologies Among Those Listed

Let’s start with the hedge funds and family offices that have actively bought or increased their holdings of PURR stock.

Druckenmiller Family Office Duquesne: Holds $23 Million in PURR Company Stock

According to the Q2 2026 13F holdings report submitted by Druckenmiller’s family office, Duquesne, to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as of June 30, Duquesne disclosed for the first time that it holds shares of Hyperliquid Strategies Inc (NASDAQ: PURR), the treasury company of HYPE, valued at $23 million. The firm currently manages approximately $5.2 billion in assets.

The firm was founded by Stanley Druckenmiller, one of the most renowned macro investors on Wall Street, who famously achieved a 30-year streak without a losing year. He came from George Soros’s Quantum Fund, where he served as chief trader and shone brightly in the classic 1992 trade that “broke the Bank of England.”

In addition, current Federal Reserve Chairman Warsh once worked at the Duquesne family office. Before taking office, his main asset holdings exceeded $100 million, including two investments of over $50 million related to the Duquesne Family Office, possibly linked to his advisory work for the family office.

Renaissance Technologies: Holds $18.7 Million in PURR Stock

Founded by the late mathematician Jim Simons and now led by a team under Peter Brown, the firm manages over $96 billion in assets. Its Medallion Fund is one of the most successful hedge funds in history. According to the latest 13F filing, the firm increased its holdings by approximately 2.4 million shares of PURR stock, valued at around $18.7 million.

As the world’s most famous quantitative hedge fund, Renaissance Technologies’ quantitative algorithms and investment models have long been praised by countless market investors. Building a position in PURR indicates that the stock meets the firm’s algorithmic screening criteria in terms of quantitative factor models and pricing efficiency.

Slate Path Capital: Holds $21 Million in PURR Stock

The firm was founded by David Greenspan, who previously served as a partner and managing director at Blue Ridge Capital, a well-known “Tiger Cub” hedge fund. The firm is a typical fundamentals-driven “Tiger Cub” fund, focusing on global equities and macro structural opportunities. It currently manages approximately $12 billion in assets.

According to the latest 13F filing, the firm holds approximately 2.7 million shares of PURR, valued at around $21.4 million.

Discovery Capital Management: Holds $10.3 Million in PURR Stock

The firm was founded by Robert Citrone, also from Tiger Management, who officially established Discovery in 1999. It currently manages approximately $3.5 billion in assets and is known for its focus on emerging markets, foreign exchange, fixed income, and global macro hedge trading.

Its investment style can be described as “sharp and aggressive,” excelling at finding excess returns in highly volatile assets. Currently, the firm holds approximately 1.3 million shares of PURR, valued at around $10.3 million.

Balyasny Asset Management: Holds $3 Million in PURR Stock

This asset management firm was co-founded by Dmitry Balyasny, Scott Schroeder, and Taylor O’Malley. With approximately 2,700 employees and 24 offices globally, it is one of the world’s top multi-strategy hedge funds. As of August 2026, the firm manages approximately $38 billion in assets.

Latest data shows the firm holds approximately 386,000 shares of PURR stock, valued at around $3 million.

Wealth High Governance Capital: Holds Approximately $17.1 Million in PURR Stock

This firm is an independent Brazilian wealth management and asset management firm headquartered in São Paulo. It is not a traditional large bank-affiliated asset manager, but rather a boutique asset management platform built around 2020 by a group of former executives from the Brazilian private bank Credit Suisse who left to start their own venture. The key member driving global asset investment is Andrew Reider, founding partner and CIO of the firm, who previously worked at the Moreira Salles family office and Verde Asset Management. Currently, the firm’s overall investment scale is approximately $940 million; its U.S. 13F disclosed stock portfolio is approximately $640 million.

Latest data shows that approximately 1.82% of the firm’s total positions consist of PURR stock, valued at approximately $17.1 million.

In addition to the institutions mentioned above, other institutions actively buying PURR stock include Tudor Investment Corporation, Point72, and D.E. Shaw, but given their relatively small positions, they will not be detailed here.

Giant Funds with Passive Holdings: Vanguard Group and Nuveen

As mentioned earlier, in addition to hedge funds and other institutions actively increasing their positions, thanks to PURR’s inclusion in the Russell indices, Vanguard Group and Nuveen, the asset management platform under TIAA, have passively increased their holdings of PURR stock.

Among them, Vanguard Group, a global asset management giant with over $10 trillion in assets under management, increased its PURR stock holdings by approximately 843,000 shares in Q2, valued at around $6.6 million. Nuveen, the asset management platform under TIAA, currently manages approximately $1.4 trillion in assets and traces its origins back to 1898. In Q2, it increased its holdings by approximately 1.07 million shares of PURR stock, valued at around $8.4 million.

According to Marketbeat data, the total institutional buying of PURR in Q2 2026 was approximately $142 million.

Other notable institutions that have recently disclosed PURR stock holdings include Paradigm, Bank of America, and others, with position values typically ranging from hundreds of thousands to several million dollars.

Of course, the disclosure cutoff date for 13F filings is June 30, and the current PURR positions of major investment institutions may have changed to varying degrees. However, looking at past trends, PURR’s institutional investors have gradually transitioned from early crypto arbitrage firms to quantitative funds, hedge funds, and traditional Wall Street financial institutions. Institutions such as BlackRock, Jane Street, Geode, and Invesco have also passively bought shares through index funds. In other words, HYPE token investment exposure and the Hyperliquid ecosystem have garnered increasing attention, trial participation, and even position building from the traditional financial industry. Even the U.S. state of Ohio has achieved this goal through indirect holdings of PURR stock. On the path to finding the “next-generation global financial infrastructure,” traditional financial institutions have never been content to sit idle.

However, while the prospects are bright, the road ahead is winding. Before the future arrives in which Hyperliquid welcomes greater global capital liquidity, the price performance of the HYPE token and the continued development of the Hyperliquid ecosystem still face a long and arduous journey.

Recently, Hyperliquid’s “AQAv2 Revenue Sharing Mechanism,” set to launch on August 26, is expected to contribute $200 million annually to HYPE buybacks. This mechanism has also received support from Circle and Coinbase. Driven by this positive catalyst and the continued development of the Hyperliquid HIP-3 and HIP-4 markets, the HYPE token price is expected to see a new round of rebound.

In the past, ETH was viewed as the “global financial asset taken over by Wall Street institutions.” Now, that expectation has fallen on HYPE. Whether it can live up to that expectation may become clear in Q4 of this year.
