Three Altcoins Under $1 With Potential for Growth: Cardano, TRON, and Stellar

  • Cardano offers strong liquidity, active development, and potential upside despite recent security concerns.
  • TRON benefits from high USDT activity, fast transactions, and substantial market liquidity.
  • Stellar combines low-cost payments, MoneyGram support, and growing stablecoin adoption across Latin America.

Investors searching for affordable crypto assets have several options this August. Some sub-$1 altcoins already support active networks and real-world use. Others offer strong liquidity and clear development plans for future growth. Cardano, TRON, and Stellar stand out for different reasons. Each project has a distinct use case and market position. Each also carries risks that investors should consider before buying. Still, improving adoption could give these tokens stronger upside potential.

Cardano (ADA)

Cardano remains one of the most established sub-$1 cryptocurrencies. The network uses proof-of-stake and relies heavily on peer-reviewed research. Cardano supports smart contracts, staking, native assets, decentralized applications, and on-chain governance. Developers continue working on upgrades that could improve network performance and usability. ADA currently trades around $0.15 to $0.17. Cardano’s market value sits near $5.9 billion to $6.2 billion. Circulating supply stands around 36.5 billion to 37.3 billion ADA. Daily trading volume also remains substantial for a sub-$1 asset. Such liquidity gives ADA an advantage over many smaller cryptocurrencies. However, ADA has fallen roughly 40% from levels seen several months ago. A recent security incident also creates another concern for investors.

TRON (TRX)

TRON presents a different opportunity because of strong transaction activity. The Layer 1 blockchain supports fast transfers and relatively low transaction costs. TRON also supports smart contracts through the TRON Virtual Machine. Developers familiar with Ethereum tools can therefore work with familiar concepts. TRX trades around $0.32 to $0.33 this August. The token carries a market value near $31 billion. Circulating supply stands near 94.8 billion TRX, without a fixed maximum supply. TRON also processes hundreds of millions of dollars in daily trading volume. Such liquidity makes TRX the largest asset among these three picks. More importantly, TRON has become a major network for USDT transfers.

Stellar (XLM)

Stellar focuses on payments, asset issuance, and cross-border financial transfers. The network offers fast transactions with relatively low costs. XLM trades around $0.16 to $0.18 this August. Stellar’s market value sits near $5.8 billion to $5.9 billion. Daily trading volume also provides solid liquidity for a sub-$1 asset. Stellar has gained additional attention through an expanded MoneyGram partnership. The partnership supports stablecoin-based remittances across Latin American markets. Such developments strengthen Stellar’s real-world payment use case. Greater adoption could create additional demand for XLM over time. However, broader crypto volatility remains a key risk for investors.

Cardano combines deep liquidity with ongoing network development and governance improvements. TRON benefits from strong USDT activity and substantial transaction demand. Stellar offers a focused payments strategy backed by institutional partnerships. These three altcoins carry risks, but growing adoption could unlock significant upside.
