Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison has added Eric Perelman as a partner in its Investment Funds Group within the Corporate Department in New York.
Perelman advises private fund and asset managers on regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters involving the Investment Advisers Act, Investment Company Act, and related securities laws and regulations.
His practice includes advising global private funds and alternative asset managers on SEC regulatory and compliance matters such as investment adviser registration, disclosure and securities reporting requirements, material non-public information, insider trading, regulatory examinations, enforcement inquiries, and adviser structuring.
Perelman also advises on the formation, offering, and governance of private equity funds, GP-led secondary vehicles, co-investments, venture capital funds, credit funds, managed account platforms, and other investment products.
His work also covers regulatory and compliance issues associated with minority investments and control-sale transactions, along with regulatory considerations related to capital markets and M&A transactions.
Before entering private practice, Perelman served as a law clerk in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from New York University and his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School.
