Amusan clocked 12.34 seconds to finish second behind American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who capped her unbeaten season with a 12.22-second win.
Dutch hurdler Nadine Visser completed the podium in 12.39 seconds, as Amusan delivered Nigeria’s first major result of the championships.

The Nigerian sprint hurdler had earlier secured her place in the final after finishing second in her semi-final in 12.49 seconds.
Her silver medal earned her $75,000 from the championships’ record prize fund, adding a significant financial reward to another major global podium finish.
The result further strengthens Amusan’s status among the world’s leading 100m hurdlers. Her career highlights include the world record of 12.12 seconds set in 2022 and three Diamond League 100m hurdles titles.
Amusan’s performance also gives Team Nigeria an early boost at the three-day championships, where the country’s athletes are competing for medals and a share of the event’s $10 million prize pool.
