The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced its forecasts for Azerbaijan’s key macroeconomic indicators for 2026-2027, APA-Economics reports.
The ADB expects Azerbaijan’s GDP to grow by 1.6% in 2026 and by 1.8% in 2027.
The bank has lowered its economic growth forecast for 2026 from the previous 2% to 1.6%. The ADB attributed this mainly to a decline in production in the oil sector.
The report notes that although weakness in the oil sector is affecting the pace of economic growth, activity in the non-oil sector remains resilient.
According to the ADB’s assessment, average annual inflation in Azerbaijan is projected at 5.9% in 2026 and 5% in 2027.
The bank noted that inflation expectations are influenced by the pass-through of hydrocarbon prices to domestic prices and changes in administered tariffs.
