Three people were arrested after hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cash, drugs and gold were seized.

West Midlands Police carried out warrants this morning (April 30) alongside the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), as part of an investigation into drug dealing and supply of medicines.

Warrants were carried out at addresses on Alum Rock Road and Yardley Wood Road, where three people aged 35, 41 and 46, were arrested.

All were arrested on suspicion of the following offences:

  • Conspiracy to supply controlled drugs of Class A, B and C
  • Conspiracy to sell prescription only medicines
  • Sell, supply and offer to sell or supply an unauthorised medicinal product
  • Money laundering

While carrying out searches at the addresses, officers recovered over £175,000 in cash, approximately £150,000 worth of gold bars, and over half a million doses of Class A, B, and C drugs.

All three remain in custody for questioning.

PC Jamie Wilson, from our Birmingham Priority Crime Team, said: “Our partnership working alongside the MHRA has produced significant results with large seizures and three arrests.”
