Eurazeo has completed the refinancing of German engineering group Rootworx GmbH, while also securing financing to support the company’s future buy-and-build strategy through additional acquisitions.

Rootworx, a portfolio company of funds advised by Ufenau Capital Partners, operates a network of engineering firms across Germany and Switzerland. The group focuses on critical infrastructure, sustainable urban and landscape planning, and process engineering, combining local expertise with a broad European platform.

Ufenau Capital Partners is a Swiss private equity investor focused on service businesses across the DACH region, Iberia, Poland, Benelux and the UK. Since 2011, the firm has invested in more than 460 service companies and currently advises over €5 billion in assets.

Eurazeo is a leading global investment group with approximately €39 billion in assets under management. Through its private debt platform, the firm provides financing solutions to support the growth of European mid-market companies.

Astera Legal acted as legal counsel to Eurazeo on the refinancing and financing package. The team was led by partner Isabell Hitzer and included Benedikt Ruck (Senior Associate), Daniel Kriesmair (Associate) and Claudia Kupka (Transaction Analyst), with tax advice provided by Heiko Penndorf.

Rootworx and Ufenau were advised by GÖRG. The team was led by partner Dr. Thomas Lange, supported by Eva Geuenich (Senior Associate) and Jannik Gesekus (Associate).
