McKirdy Brothers, based in Port Seton, took home gold and silver honours at the 2026 Scottish Craft Butcher Awards, winning in the Beef Burger and 30 Minute Ready Meal Championships.
The butcher earned a gold award for its chicken enchiladas and a silver for its salt and chilli chicken, with both entries praised as some of the best products made by craft butchers across Scotland.
A silver award for traditional beef burgers also went to Linton Butchers in East Linton.
The awards were judged at Forth Valley College in Stirling, with products assessed on taste, appearance, texture, consistency and overall quality.
They were then presented at a regional meeting held at Peebles Hydro Hotel.
Gordon King, executive manager at Scottish Craft Butchers, said: “These competitions highlight the exceptional talent within Scotland’s craft butchery industry.
“Whether producing the perfect beef burger or creating convenient ready meals packed with flavour and quality ingredients, our members continue to innovate while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.
“The award winners have demonstrated exactly why consumers continue to value and support their local butcher.”
