A decade of disciplined SIP investing has rewarded investors handsomely in a select group of equity mutual funds. Only seven diversified equity schemes have generated annualised SIP returns of over 20% during the past 10 years, turning a ₹10,000 monthly investment into a corpus of ₹34.8 lakh to ₹38.8 lakh. The list, which excludes sectoral and thematic funds, is dominated entirely by small-cap and mid-cap schemes.Among the seven schemes, four are mid-cap funds while the remaining three are small-cap funds. Notably, no large-cap, flexi-cap, multi-cap, focused or value-oriented equity fund managed to cross the 20% annualised SIP return mark during…

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will be conducting its next Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in a very challenging situation. On one hand, the real estate industry is eager to know which way RBI is going to direct the policy, and then again, various macroeconomic factors are at play like global conflicts, fluctuating crude prices, sustained inflationary pressure, and overall world economic uncertainty. Industry players agree that the main issue is not the lack of demand for residential property, the gradual expansion of commercial leasing activity, and the growth in institutional investments, but instead, that these factors don’t call…
Bitcoin’s July Rally Collapses Into $62K Slump After teasing double-digit gains for much of late July, bitcoin closed the month up a modest 4.5%, doing little to erase year-to-date losses that sat near 30% by Aug. 2. Although the last days of July lived up to their billing as the most eventful of the year, a sudden July 31 slump pulled prices down to $62,236 after starting the day above $65,000. The nearly $3,000 wipeout on this day dragged bitcoin’s market capitalization from just over $1.3 trillion to $1.26 trillion, underlining the volatility of a week in which the Federal…
By Eric Elezuo It was a gathering of likeminds. It was a gathering of Africans, who seek the best for the continent. It was a gathering that took four beautiful days of conversation, distinct dialogue, and a communique that exposes the desire to integrate all Africans for economic prosperity, common currency and a unity that transcends borders. It was the International Annual Conference of the HARAKATI ZA MUUNGANO group, a union-movement saddled with the responsibility of seeking a common ground for all Africans. Held at the Ghana National Association of Teachers Complex (GNAT) in Greater Accra Region, the heart of…

Key Trading Insights Price slipped from an intraday spike near recent highs to close weak, signaling profit taking and shaken short-term confidence. Weekly candles show a sharp run from the mid-$14 area toward $21, then a fast rejection, putting CMCO back into a potential consolidation zone. Financials show solid revenue scale above $1.19B, but heavy losses and negative margins raise questions about earnings quality. High leverage and negative returns on equity make risk management crucial for traders sizing positions in Columbus McKinnon Corporation.…
Issuers and promoters of blockchain-based collectibles sued under securities laws can now argue those were sold for personal use and enjoyment as a path to avoid liability, based on a recent ruling.A federal judge in California recently rejected unregistered securities claims from people who bought cartoon images of “bored” apes—some wearing sunglasses—in the form of non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, because they were marketed for “consumption.” Now those token purchasers have refiled their class action complaint, trying to resurrect their original premise. While the law governing cryptocurrency trading remains in flux, NFTs stand apart because each item is unique. Judge Fernando…

By Raymond HortonFinancial Fundamentals | LouisianaIn a capitalistic society, individuals and businesses aim to earn a profit with the production of their investment and labor in a free market operating largely by supply and demand. Socialism is when the government owns and/or controls productive enterprises. A mixed economy is aspects of both. The United States appears to be moving toward a mixed economy. To make the case, look at the tax code and labor market that tend to send our factories outside the U.S. This limits our economy not only by losing wages paid to foreign workers, but by losing the multiplier-effect…
