XRP Sheds 4% as Ripple Plans XRPL Batch V1.1 Activation

Ripple XRP is down 4.33% to $1.38 on Sunday, underperforming a slightly weaker broader market, driven mainly by lingering regulatory uncertainty after a key legislative setback.

The primary pressure stems from the U.S. Senate’s failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act on September 15.  While the immediate sell-off occurred days ago, the lingering uncertainty continues to suppress buying interest, as regulatory responsibility now shifts to agencies like the SEC.

Cryptocurrency analysts maintained that the lack of legislative clarity remains a headwind, making XRP particularly sensitive to any new regulatory news.

XRP broke below its daily pivot point of $1.42, turning a key reference level into resistance. This technical breakdown was exacerbated by a broader market dip, with the total crypto market cap falling 1.17%.

The market also witnessed a declining altcoin index, signalling capital rotating away from riskier assets. The move reflects a combination of coin-specific technical selling and a risk-off tilt across altcoins.

The immediate path hinges on key technical levels. The 78.6% Fibonacci retracement at $1.34 is critical near-term support. If buyers defend this zone, XRP could consolidate between $1.34 and $1.42.

The main risk is a break below $1.34, which could trigger a swift drop toward the September low of $1.25. The structure is bearish below $1.42 but not yet broken on higher timeframes.

Unresolved regulatory fears and failed technical support are driving the sell-off. While whale accumulation data suggests underlying bid interest, it hasn’t yet offset the selling pressure.

Ripple says asset managers and commercial projects are preparing to use XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 if it activates later this month.

RippleX head of engineering Ayo Akinyele said work with asset managers is underway; Batch V1.1 can package up to eight transactions into a single operation.

Live amendment data on Sept. 20 showed 30 of 35 tracked validators supporting Batch V1.1 (about 85%). XRPL requires at least 80% support for 14 consecutive days (28 votes).

The countdown began on Sept. 15 at 14:06:41 UTC and could lead to activation shortly after Sept. 29 if backing remains uninterrupted.

Ripple has not publicly named the asset managers or disclosed launch dates; Akinyele said, “We’ll be sharing more once the feature is live, including work with key asset managers.”

The XLS-56 specification defines Batch as 2–8 inner transactions and supports four processing modes, including an All-or-Nothing setting that enables atomic delivery-versus-payment (DvP).

Developers fixed multiple signature and authorisation issues and ran adversarial and third-party security reviews before the current vote. XRP Climbs on Relief Rally, SEC Delays Teucrium’s 2x Short Daily ETF
