The University of Vermont’s Department of Community Development and Applied Economics is thrilled to share that faculty member Myles David Jewell will have his latest film, Vignettes of Veiled Light, featured at the 2025 Vermont International Film Festival. The multimedia performance will screen on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Main Street Landing Black Box Theater in Burlington.

Co-directed by Alexandra Jewell and Myles David Jewell, Vignettes of Veiled Light explores the build‐up to and including the April 8th, 2024 solar eclipse, a rare celestial event that placed Burlington in the path of totality. Through a series of short video vignettes, accompanied by music, storytelling, and moments of reflection, the film captures how light and shadow can transform perception and inspire connection.

The film serves as both an artistic meditation and a love letter to Burlington, celebrating how a shared experience of natural wonder brought the community together.

Tickets for the screening are $12 for general admission and $6 for students with ID. Festival passes and memberships are also available here.

Alexandra Jewell is a filmmaker, artist, and educator based in Vermont. She founded Armadillo Collective in 2021 to foster a creative community that champions diverse voices and values authentic connections over speed. Learn more about her work on her website www.alexandrarosejewell.com.

Myles David Jewell is a filmmaker and educator whose work spans documentary, multimedia storytelling, and visual culture. As a Lecturer in CDAE, he brings his expertise in media, narrative, and public communication to help students explore how stories shape community understanding and social change.
