Kazakhstan has taken a new step to strengthen economic cooperation with China after President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law ratifying a key investment protection agreement with Beijing.
The document, titled “On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on encouragement and mutual protection of investment,” aims to provide a stronger legal framework for bilateral investment flows, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The move finalizes commitments reached during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Astana last June, further reinforcing economic ties between the two countries.
Senator Sergey Yershov said that the ratification updates the 1992 bilateral treaty and aligns the legal framework with modern international standards governing investment protection.
