The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced the conclusion of the fourth and final round of meetings for the economic track of the structured dialogue, as part of efforts to prepare a comprehensive package of recommendations aimed at supporting economic reform and enhancing stability in Libya.
In a statement published on its Facebook page, the mission said participants in the economic track spent four days in intensive discussions reviewing the draft final recommendations, with the goal of consolidating points of consensus and refining the final wording to ensure the recommendations are clear, coherent, and implementable.
UNSMIL added that the discussions reflected the participants’ commitment to developing practical proposals addressing urgent challenges related to economic governance, while laying the groundwork for long-term reforms that support stability and development.
According to the mission, the draft recommendations covered a wide range of economic issues, including financial governance and public finance management, oil revenue and sovereign resource management, as well as economic restructuring and income diversification.
The recommendations also addressed balanced development and economic justice among Libya’s regions, macroeconomic stability and economic policies, in addition to strengthening transparency and economic accountability. Participants further discussed mechanisms to support implementation through broader national participation, enhanced institutional coordination, and the provision of necessary international support.
The final recommendations of the economic track are expected to be published following the structured dialogue’s plenary session scheduled for June 7.
