What’s the deal? In September 2018, funds advised by BC Partners signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in United Group from KKR. KKR retained a substantial minority stake. Context United Group is a multi-play telecoms and media operator across South East Europe, combining cable/fibre networks with content and digital services. BC Partners lists United Group as an unrealised Private Equity holding in its TMT portfolio (investment year 2018, Europe).
