Paul Hastings has added Amanda Persaud as a partner and co-chair of Investment Funds and Private Capital in New York, further strengthening the firm’s global funds platform. Persaud joins from Ropes & Gray, where she was part of its Band 1-ranked funds practice, and is recognized by Chambers as among the top practitioners of her generation in the field.
Persaud’s practice spans the full lifecycle of private equity sponsor investments, with a focus on private equity and private credit fund formation, including direct lending, distressed and opportunistic strategies, as well as infrastructure, real estate, and hedge funds. Her experience also extends to asset manager strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, GP stakes transactions, succession planning, management buyouts, preferred equity structures, joint ventures, and spin-outs.
Her client roster has included Apollo Global Management, Blackstone, Carlyle, KKR, Houlihan Lokey, Invesco, New Mountain Capital, and Charlesbank Capital Partners, among many others.
Persaud is the sixth partner to join Paul Hastings’ funds team in 2026 alone. Since the start of 2023, 11 additional partners have joined the practice, including laterals from Paul Weiss and Kirkland & Ellis, driving practice revenue growth of more than 70% over that period. Paul Hastings was recently recognized as runner-up for Law Firm of the Year in Fund Formation globally by Private Debt Investor.
