The new fund offer (NFO) will open for subscription on May 20 and close on June 3, the company said.
SIF is a newly introduced investment category positioned between traditional mutual funds and alternative investment funds (AIFs). The minimum investment amount for investors is set at ₹10 lakh at the PAN level across all strategies offered under the SIF structure.
According to the fund house, the Platinum Hybrid Long-Short Fund will use a mix of arbitrage positions, protected derivative strategies and accrual debt investments to seek relatively stable returns over a one- to two-year investment horizon.
The fund structure includes controlled equity exposure ranging between 5% and 70%, fully hedged arbitrage exposure between 5% and 70%, and high-quality accrual debt exposure in the range of 25% to 35%.
Neelesh Surana, CIO, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India), said the SIF category gives investors access to specialised strategies within a regulated mutual fund framework. He added that the strategy provides flexibility across debt, equity and derivative instruments.
The fund house said the strategy is designed to focus on risk-adjusted returns across market cycles, with debt and arbitrage positions aimed at stability and derivative strategies intended for yield enhancement.
The scheme will be managed by Gaurik Shah, who oversees quantitative and derivatives-based investment strategies at the firm.
Gaurik Shah, SVP – Equity Investments, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India), said the three-tier structure is intended to provide lower drawdowns compared with hybrid funds that maintain unhedged directional equity exposure.
The company said the fund is targeted at conservative investors seeking relatively stable returns with downside protection over a medium-term investment horizon.
Vaibhav Shah, Head – Products, Business Strategy and International Business, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India), said the SIF platform aims to bridge the gap between retail mutual fund products and investment strategies typically available to high net-worth investors.
