Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) has added Chicago Pacific Founders to its roster of real estate fund managers with a commitment of $100m (€87m).

According to a board meeting report, the pensiono fund is committing $66.7m to Chicago Pacific Founders Healthcare Real Estate Fund IV and $33m to CPF Living Communities IV, a co-investment vehicle.

Chicago Pacific Founders, which specialises in healthcare investments through an integrated owner-operator model, did not respond to a request for comment.

According to Kansa PERS, the fund will target senior housing facilities and medical office buildings across the US.

The investment will form part of its opportunistic section of its non-core real estate portfolio.

Kansas PERS has also added to its real assets portfolio with a new $150m commitment into the IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, according to the pension fund.

It is the fourth time the pension fund has invested in the open-ended fund. The other commitments started in 2015 with $100m and additional commitments of $50m in 2018 and $95m in July of last year.

The fund invests globally in core-plus and value-add assets in the sectors of transportation, social, energy and telecommunications.
