She spent 15 years in nursing, progressing from intensive care and trauma care to emergency room nursing and ultimately director of nursing, before a personal transition called her toward a career that offered greater flexibility without sacrificing purpose. Guided by faith and a clear vision for her future, she entered real estate in 2005, first building a foundation in residential investment and luxury home development through ROJO Northwoods Properties, LLC and Platinum Development of Bemidji.

One of her most meaningful projects during this period involved 40 acres on Leech Lake’s north side, initially envisioned as a gated community with a private marina. When it was discovered the land held Native American tribal significance, her business partner made the decision to prioritize integrity over profit. Ms. Johnson helped facilitate the process, working alongside local tribes, the Department of Natural Resources, and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe to return the land to its rightful owners, an experience she considers one of the most meaningful of her career.

When the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the commercial landscape, Ms. Johnson’s healthcare background became her greatest asset.
