Vivid completes record number of homes despite missing target | News

Vivid last year completed its highest number of homes since it was formed in 2017, its accounts show.

The Hampshire housing association completed 1,549 homes in 2025/26, up from the 1,505 recorded for the previous year.

The landlord has now completed more than 1,500 homes in each of the past three years, although its figure for 2025/26 was down on the 1,600 it had targeted. Vivid more than doubled its homes completed for social rent, from 335 to 685 units.

The group’s overall turnover fell from £407.5m to £388.7m. Open market sale revenue fell by £33m to £58m, offset by a near £15m increase in social housing lettings income.

Vivid’s surplus fell 18%, from £61.9m to £50.8m. This was impacted by an increase in interest costs of £15.9m. However, its operating suprlus excluding one-off costs rose from £124.8m to £129.9m.

Vivid said its overall satisfaction rating fell from 73.3% to 71.3%, however it said this year it moved to a “mixed methods survey” whereby residents could take part via email. Vivid said if the survey had been conducted on the same basis as last year it would’ve shown an improvement.

Vivid’s digital transformation project has seen it implement predictive AI and data tools to spot signs that residents need support.

Mark Perry, chief executive of Vivid, said: “As well as improving services, we’ve maintained a strong focus on delivering new homes.

“For the third consecutive year, we’ve completed more than 1,500 homes, meaning more individuals and families now have a safe and secure place to live.

”Since our creation, we’ve delivered more than 11,500 new homes – a scale of delivery that reflects both our ambition and our sustained commitment to addressing housing need.”

The completions total is Vivid’s highest since it was formed by a merger of First Wessex and Sentinel in 2017. The group’s annual completions has more than doubled since 2017/18 and last year it had the sixth highest completions total in the housing association sector, according to Housing Today’s Largest 50 Housing Associations analysis.
