Helen Easton said: “We will continue to develop our policies, culture and employee experience with Platinum status firmly in our sights.”
Darlington Building Society has been awarded Investors in People Gold accreditation, recognising its commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.
The accreditation followed survey feedback and assessment, with Darlington scoring above the sector average.
Darlington’s strongest scoring areas included leading and inspiring people, living the organisation’s values and behaviours, and empowering and involving colleagues.
The assessment highlighted positive relationships between managers and teams, clear pride in working at the Society, and strong understanding of the Society’s values.
Helen Easton, chief people officer at Darlington Building Society, said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be awarded Gold accreditation from Investors in People.
“We understood that going for gold in our very first year was ambitious, but we were confident that our standards as a business would stand out, and our colleagues confirmed this.
“From here it’s about continuous improvement. Never one to rest on our laurels, we will continue to develop our policies, culture and employee experience with Platinum status firmly in our sights.”
Paul Devoy, CEO at Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Darlington Building Society on its Gold accreditation.
“It is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Darlington Building Society in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.
“We believe that the success of your organisation begins and ends with people.”
Devoy added: “If we make work better for everyone, we make work better for every organisation.
“And if we do that, we make society stronger, healthier and happier.”
