Abu Dhabi’s Stock Exchange Builds Infrastructure for Tokenised Assets

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has partnered with DFNS to develop digital wallets supporting tokenised and other on-chain financial products.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has signed an agreement with digital asset technology company DFNS to develop wallet infrastructure supporting tokenised and other on-chain financial products.

The exchange will use DFNS’s wallet technology as part of a broader push to expand the issuance, listing and trading of digital assets, placing ADX among the first financial market operators in the region to develop integrated wallet and tokenisation capabilities.

Tokenisation involves creating a blockchain-based digital representation of an asset, allowing instruments such as shares or bonds to be issued, held or transferred digitally.

The move builds on ADX’s recent work around digitally native bonds and tokenised equities, with the exchange positioning the new infrastructure as a base for further on-chain products.

Founded in 2020, DFNS develops wallet infrastructure for banks, fintech companies and other businesses. Its technology supports on-chain operations across more than 30 blockchains and 1,000 tokens.
