A Birmingham-headquartered consultancy supporting clients across the UK in the planning, design and completion of development and infrastructure projects has secured the backing of private equity firm CBPE Capital. The deal was supported by a host of prominent advisers.

This new partnership provides additional investment to support Brookbanks’ continued growth, including further investment in its people, expansion of service capabilities, and targeted geographic and strategic development.

Brookbanks, which was founded in 1997, will continue to be led by chief executive Andrew Thorley, chief technical officer Richard Moorcroft, chairman Paul Boileau and the existing leadership team, who all remain significant shareholders in the business.

“We wanted a partner who truly understood the culture and ambition of our business and CBPE stood out from the start of the process,” said Thorley. “Their experience and support will be invaluable as we continue to invest in our people, grow our business and deliver exceptional value to our clients.”

Moorcroft added: “This new partnership enables us to expand our strong technical capabilities, delivering even greater value for our clients.

“With additional investment in our people, tools and processes, we will be even better positioned to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions and support our clients in navigating increasingly complex development and infrastructure challenges.”

Having founded Brookbanks in 1997, I am immensely proud of what the business has achieved and the reputation we have built across the UK. This partnership marks an important milestone in our journey, and I am excited about the opportunities it creates for the future.

Boileau said: “I look forward to continuing in my role as chairman, supporting Andrew and the wider leadership team as we build on our strong foundations and continue our ambition to be the UK’s leading development consultancy, delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and creating opportunities for our people.

“The partnership reflects a shared ambition to build on Brookbanks’ strong track record while maintaining the culture, client focus and technical excellence that underpin the business today.

“For clients, partners and employees, it is very much business as usual, with continuity in leadership, service delivery and long-term client commitments.”

Founded in 1984, CBPE Capital focuses on partnering with companies across a range of sectors, including business services, healthcare, financial services, technology and industrials.

Ben Lewis, director at CBPE, said: “Brookbanks has built a unique position within the UK development and infrastructure market. The business combines deep technical expertise with a highly commercial, client-focused approach and has established an outstanding reputation across some of the UK’s most significant development projects.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Andrew and the wider team and look forward to supporting the business as it continues to grow, broaden its capabilities and create opportunities for its people and clients.”

Brookbanks was advised by KPMG (lead M&A and tax), Freeths (legal), PwC (financial and tax) and PKF (financial).
