Rangers took on the Swedish outfit in the second round qualifying first leg but conceded a goal towards the latter part of the game as they fell to a 2-0 defeat in Stockholm.
Speaking to RangersTV to give her reflections on the game, she said: “Disappointed, I thought it was a tough game for us, but also a good thing that it is two legs because we will get an opportunity to go and right a few wrongs in all honesty.
“A little bit on the back foot first half, I don’t think we got to grips with the speed of the game.
“The first 10 minutes or so we were probably ok, moved the ball well enough but I think then when Hammarby got a hold of the ball and the crowd got on their side you could probably feel the energy.
“For us just zapped a little bit, made us work really hard in terms of those moments. We didn’t use the ball well enough in the moments that we do work hard to win it back and ultimately you get punished.
“Ultimately it is half time in the tie, we have got an opportunity to put it to bed by tonight which we need to do by tomorrow, then we move on through the week and we get a chance next week to get after it again.
“It is a tough environment and atmosphere and it is probably the first time that some of those players have experienced that type of hostility, which is excellent for them.
“They need to learn, they need to understand that this is the Europa Cup, this is European football.
We are understanding it as a staff group as well and we are very much in that together to try and learn as quickly as we possibly can.
“A little bit more quality from us on the ball tonight we would have found the back of the net. I felt there a couple of moments there was a set piece later on into the game.
“We make the wrong decision with that I think we could have done better.
“Other than that I cannot fault the players, they have given us everything, they have worked tirelessly tonight.
“Tapped into the bench, we have looked to try rally the changes and find that solution and ultimately that second goal zaps the energy from us, but we are not out the tie. The next goal in the tie is absolutely vital.
Rangers now have a quick turnaround for Sunday’s first Old Firm clash of the season, with Crichton saying the team will be well equipped to try get a result back on home soil in league action.
She said: “They will be ready; there is no surprises that these games have come round.
“We have worked hard to get ourselves into this position so we are not for one minute about to moan that we are here and hard done by.
“Best of food, best of travel, hotel, facilities, resources. We will get back to the Training Centre tomorrow, we’ll rest, recover and dust ourselves down.
“We’ll park our egos and take that hit tonight but that is all it is. We are behind in the tie, we have got Celtic to look forward to at the weekend so the players will be ready, we have got a freshness about the group.
“We are really strong, the squad is back together, we have almost got a full quota bar Sarah and Raff and we know they have been two slightly longer term injuries.
“Other than that everybody is desperate to play, desperate to form and go and get a positive result on Sunday.”
