Harvard Lights Varsity Four Wins Silver Medal at IRA National Championship

GOLD RIVER, Calif. — Harvard men’s lightweight rowing’s varsity four was the team’s only boat to race in day two of the IRA National Championship Regatta and came away with a silver medal. The Harvard Lights finished second in the A Final, while the two eight-man boats will row in Sunday’s finals.

Led by coxswain Ericka Lai and stroke Matt Lyons, the fours forged a close race with gold medalist Penn; keeping the margin within a second at the halfway point. The oarsmen contributing to the silver-medal finish were Grant Atkinson, Nathan Papas and bow Russell O’Donnell.
