Impax Asset Management announced the appointment of Andrew Morris as Co-Head of Private Equity Infrastructure. Morris brings more than two decades of infrastructure investing experience across infrastructure, private equity, and real assets. He joins Impax’s Management Committee and will work closely alongside Daniel von Preyss, Co-Head of Private Equity Infrastructure.

Morris replaces Carsten Johansen, who will leave Impax at the end of August. Morris and von Preyss will be supported by senior Private Equity Infrastructure leaders Manish Sarwal, who has been appointed Head of Asset Management, and Babaola Omiyale, Managing Director.

Before joining Impax, Morris was Head of Infrastructure Equity at UBS Asset Management, where he led the business investing across the energy, digital, and transport sectors in Europe and North America.

Previously, he was a Managing Director within the Infrastructure, Real Assets business at Canada Pension Plan Investments. In that role, he was responsible for originating, executing, and managing investments across private and public markets.

Earlier in his career, Morris was a founding member of the RREEF Infrastructure European team, now part of DWS. He helped raise, invest, and manage the firm’s pan-European infrastructure funds.

Morris began his infrastructure investing career at John Laing PLC, focusing on concessions, public-private partnerships, and greenfield projects. He has also held numerous non-executive director roles across transport, energy, and telecommunications businesses.

The appointment strengthens Impax’s private markets leadership as the firm continues investing around the transition to a more sustainable economy. Impax said Morris’ experience across energy, transport, and digital infrastructure will support the firm’s infrastructure platform and investors.

Founded in 1998, Impax is a specialist asset manager focused on listed and private markets strategies tied to the transition to a more sustainable global economy. The firm had approximately £23.3 billion of assets under management as of June 30, 2026.

Impax invests around long-term themes including climate change, pollution, human capital, infrastructure, and resource efficiency. The company seeks to back higher-quality companies with strong business models and sound risk management.

KEY QUOTES:

“Andrew is a highly respected infrastructure investor with a proven track record across sourcing, executing and managing investments through multiple market cycles. His extensive experience across energy, transport and digital infrastructure, will be a significant asset to our team and our investors.”

Ian Simm, Founder and Chief Executive of Impax Asset Management

“Impax has built a brilliant reputation over nearly 30 years as a specialist investor focussed on some of the most compelling long-term themes shaping the global economy. The PE Infrastructure team has developed a differentiated platform and an impressive track record and I am excited to join the business at this stage of its growth. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to realise the significant private markets investment opportunities related to the transition to a more sustainable economy.”
