Global law firm Reed Smith has expanded its private equity capabilities in Southern California with the addition of partner Bryan Ikegami to its Global Corporate Group. Based in the firm’s Century City office, Ikegami brings extensive experience advising private equity funds and portfolio companies on complex transactions, reinforcing Reed Smith’s continued investment in the region.

Ikegami focuses his practice on representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies across a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions. His experience also includes advising on corporate governance, executive compensation, and equity incentive structures. Over the course of his career, he has worked with clients spanning multiple industries, including aerospace and defense, financial services, energy, healthcare, industrials, and technology.

Prior to joining Reed Smith, Ikegami served as a partner at Winston & Strawn, where he led the West region of the firm’s private equity and M&A practice. His leadership experience and transactional depth are expected to further strengthen Reed Smith’s position in the competitive Southern California market.

The addition of Ikegami aligns with Reed Smith’s broader strategy of enhancing its corporate and private equity bench, particularly in key growth markets like Los Angeles. The Century City office has been a focal point for the firm’s expansion efforts, supporting clients across a range of industries with sophisticated transactional and advisory services.

Reed Smith continues to position itself as a leading global law firm for complex corporate matters, leveraging its collaborative platform and industry expertise to deliver tailored solutions for clients navigating evolving market dynamics.

KEY QUOTES:

“Bryan is a first-rate private equity lawyer who brings the perspective of an investor and deal maker to each transaction. His ability to build client relationships and serve as an extension of their deal teams will be an asset to our platform.”

Matthew Mohn, Co-Chair, Global Corporate Group, Reed Smith

“Bryan’s arrival strengthens our private equity and corporate capabilities in Southern California and reflects our investment in the market. Clients here will benefit from his wide-ranging experience and his track record in nearly all industries.”
