Telecommunications Fraud: Muirfield Drive
A resident, 79, reported March 20 that he was the victim of a cryptocurrency scam in which he suffered a loss of $33,000.
The man believed he was trading on a legitimate cryptocurrency website, but it turned out to be fraudulent.
Disturbance: Avion Park Drive
A disturbance occurred at a local business March 19 when a temporary employee got into an argument with a supervisor after he was let go for taking too many breaks.
The supervisor claimed the East Cleveland man, 30, threw something on him.
Responding officers issued the man a trespass warning and made sure he left the property.
Theft: Wilson Mills Road
Kohl’s loss prevention reported March 21 that a known shoplifter was found to have stolen $820 worth of merchandise the previous day.
They said the Akron woman, 34, has been involved in multiple thefts at area Kohl’s locations.
A warrant has been issued her arrest.
Hit-skip: Wilson Mills Road
A man reported March 21 that his vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle and the driver fled without stopping.
The suspect was identified through the vehicle’s registration as a Cleveland man, 47, and a citation was prepared for leaving the scene of an accident.
Property damage: Wilson Mills Road
A man reported March 23 that a window on his vehicle was smashed out while the vehicle was parked at Chipotle.
There was nothing reported missing from the vehicle, and it was unclear if the damage was caused by a person or was weather related.
Suspicious person: Wilson Mills Road
A caller said March 24 that a teen was outside Marathon asking people to buy him items from the store.
The Cleveland boy, 16, who appeared to be wearing an ankle monitor, was found in the area a short time later at Sky Zone, where the staff asked that he be given a trespass warning.
Officers advised him and sent him on his way.
Stolen property: Wilson Mills Road
A man said March 26 that someone stole his wallet from an unlocked locker at Fitworks while was working out.
He said he had since learned that a credit card from the wallet had been used fraudulently at the GetGo in South Euclid.
The incident is under investigation.
