The Killeen City Council on Tuesday will discuss awarding a contract for more than $5.8 million for Bunny Trail reconstruction.
According to the presentation attached to the agenda, this reconstruction effort is part of the 2022 fiscal year Capital Improvement Plan.
The project will include roadway replacements, as well as replacements of the curb, gutter, sidewalk and drainage at Bunny Trail’s intersection with Stan Schlueter Loop.
Also on the workshop agenda is discussion of an upcoming public hearing on outdoor lighting regulations.
This came after a January motion of direction instructing staff to prepare an ordinance expanding outdoor lighting regulations.
The initial subject was brought up by Councilman Riakos Adams in the course of discussing the Dark Skies Program.
The presentation says it will expand the ordinance to include regulations for areas zoned for university and cemetery, which will prevent glare and light trespass.
There will also be a discussion on the upcoming public hearing on rezoning from business to multifamily housing.
Other items on the agenda include:
- A Killeen Economic Development Corporation update.
- A progress update from the Youth Advisory Committee.
- An accessible hazard alert system for $113,133.
- An outdoor warning siren for $99,952.
The City Council meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at City Hall, 101 N. College St.
For those unable to attend the meeting in person, it will be livestreamed and archived for playback on the city’s website, KilleenTexas.gov. It will also be broadcast live on Spectrum Cable Channel 10.
